State of Minnesota Voter Registration

Avoid delays on Election Day, and preregister to vote. Voters can now register online to vote at the Secretary of State's website or by submitting a completed paper voter registration application to the Benton County Auditor's office. Paper applications are also available at the Sauk Rapids Government Center.


Voter Eligibility

To be eligible to vote in the City of Sauk Rapids, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • A U.S. citizen
  • At least 18 years old on Election Day
  • A resident of Minnesota for 20 days immediately preceding the Election Day and be a resident of the City of Sauk Rapids on the day of the Election.
  • Finished with all parts of any felony sentence
  • You can vote while under guardianship unless a judge specifically has revoked your right to vote.
  • You cannot vote if a court has ruled that you are legally incompetent.
